We start with a treatment test spot and prep your cleansed skin with a gel to ensure total tissue protection.

Aftercare
After the procedure, your skin will be red and may feel like you have a mild sunburn. There may be some mild swelling, too.
Your provider will walk you through all of your detailed aftercare instructions and ensure you understand exactly what to expect after your IPL photofacial treatment.

Pre-Care Instructions
Preparing for an IPL Photofacial
Let us know if you have an active breakout, cold sores, or lesions, as we may need to reschedule your photofacial appointment.
Let us know about the medications you take so we can ensure you’re not on light sensitive medications.
Avoid sun exposure for at least 24 hours before an IPL photofacial and discontinue use of retinoids 12 hours prior.
Use no oil based creams or gels for a week before your treatment.
Post-Care Instructions
IPL Photofacial Post-Care
Immediately after treatment, your skin will be red and slightly swollen. Avoid excessive heat and the sun for at least 48 hours.
The redness and swelling can last up to 10 days. Pigmented lesions may darken for a week or 2. Use no oil based creams or gels for a week after your treatment.
You should wear SPF daily, regardless of if you’re inside or outside and regardless of if it’s sunny or not.
