Boost Healing for Younger Skin
PRP in Apple Valley, MN
If someone told you they could take your blood, spin it really fast, and inject it back into you for major healing benefits, would you believe them? Well, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a little more complicated than that, but the basics are true! At The Laser Room Med Spa, you can find effective and trustworthy PRP in Apple Valley, MN and tackle signs of aging skin.
How it Works
To create platelet-rich plasma, we spin your blood in a centrifuge until the components separate, leaving a layer of plasma that’s rich with growth factors. When injected back into your body, those growth factors supercharge healing and repair. We often pair PRP with microneedling for intensive results.

Preparing for PRP
Make sure we know of any facial cold sore or herpes break-outs so we can help minimize chances of a possible break out after treatment.
Try to eat a snack before your appointment to keep from feeling light-headed or faintish during your injection.
Don’t consume aspirin, St. John’s wort, fish oil, vitamin E, or alcohol for 5 days prior to treatment.
Avoid scheduling your treatment within 3 weeks of a big event.
Don’t engage in aerobic activities for 24 hours after PRP injection treatments.
No straining, heavy lifting, vigorous exercise 24 to 48 hours following treatment.
We typically like to see PRP clients about 4 weeks after their treatment to take after pictures and check on their progress.
Because PRP is derived from your own body, there are virtually no risks associated with it! The most important thing to think about when considering PRP injections is who performs it—any kind of injection should only come from a qualified and experienced professional.
Yes! Physicians have used PRP for decades to speed tissue healing for injuries, and it works just as well to restore your youthful skin. PRP is essentially the same yellow-ish stuff that wounds produce as they heal—that’s why the old saying goes “pus means it’s healing”!
